Senior citizens can be forced to make difficult life-altering decisions: How do you spend your fixed income? How do you cover the bills, pay for medicine and still afford food?
The Senior Box program was created to help seniors ensure that food is not the option that has to be left off the list.
Each month, at-risk seniors living on a fixed income, and who qualify, can received a free 18- to 20-pound box of food. The box includes staples such as canned food, pasta, powdered milk, etc.
The Senior Boxes help to provide seniors with adequate nutrition so that they can lead healthy and active lives.
Senior Boxes are distributed 12 times a year, on Thursdays, beginning at 1:30 PM.
